You guys have it all wrong. Separating traffic of all kinds is what got us into this mess. You need to get rid of all of the separations: Rip up the curbs, remove all lane markers, everything. Make the whole damn public space from storefront to storefront a general use area. Cars, bikes, people, hotdog carts, cafe tables, streetlights, shrubberies, busses and cabs, all in a big mess. It’ll be chaotic, but it will be slow and safe.

Neither do we need more SVG plug-ins, or Google cross-browser libraries. Workarounds are no longer acceptable.

The paradigm in the music business has shifted and as an artist and a businesswoman, I have to move with that shift. Live Nation has offered me a true partnership and after 25 years in the business, I feel I deserve that. I’ve never wanted to think in a limited way, and with this new partnership, the possibilities are endless. Who knows how my albums will be distributed in the future?

I could make an argument that open music won’t have it’s break out moment through these massive online catalogs. They will break through taste sharers at which point the only services necessary for the artist are paypal and a remote host. Who is cultivating the taste-sharer?

Yes, the future is controlled by those familiar with keyboards and mice, not radio payoffs. If you make the music, align yourself with new, honest businessmen. With transparent accounting. Who love your MUSIC! Fans…keep acquiring the music the way you want to consume it. That’s the ONLY WAY change will happen. The labels don’t want to lead, they follow at best. A buck a track is bullshit. Ten bucks a month from EVERYBODY is a better business model. But the labels will only allow this if they’ve got CONTROL, if it’s a RENTAL MODEL! There IS NO CONTROL! Face it! The genie can’t be put back in the bottle. Deal with reality old farts. The field is wide open for young entrepreneurs. Who’ll control the filter, what to listen to, as radio continues to falter, and will control sales, when music is paid for once again.
